LLM Writing
In the Loft, October 15, 2026.
Disclaimer: I do not agree with what this page says anymore. I hope to rewrite it at some point.
There are all these cool new things out there now, asterisk.
It's why I even care for LLMs at all! Otherwise, I don't see how they justify their own existence.
https://akl.gg is a cool little thing. I don't use it, but I do see excitement in the community around it, and it apparently wouldn't exist without LLMs, so that seems pretty cool to me.
I think LLMs have impacted code a lot less than they have impacted writing, because most code was pretty disrespectful to begin with lmao. Code quality is just not that important to users beyond things like security, reliability, and how long it takes to make changes to that code.
But with writing, I just don't see it.
https://aquaduckd.github.io/pinchordlookup/ gets to exist! And... I get to filter through slop writing?
I recently didn't read https://www.davidb.org/post/2026/why-ai/.
It seems to tick all the boxes for me:
- Transparency ("this post was made with AI assistance" and a link to this article)
- Things existing that didn't get to exist before!
- Sharing things, made by people
And yet I don't want to read this stuff at all.
I have no idea whether David Brown asked for my opinion in that article. When I pasted it into an LLM it says he did.
I'm glad this person now has the means to write about the cool things he's making when he didn't before.
That article, I think, was made in response to some comments on his previous article entirely disregarding it as "ai generated". And yeah. Suddenly, it's not on the writer to not make shit up, its on the reader to figure out whether what they're reading is even real. And how real it is. Nobody wants to be in that position. It's why people leave immediately, I think. I don't think you can really ask people to spend their time figuring out whether what they're reading is real.
Recently I ended my latest stint as someone who didn't use LLMs to write code, and now I again feel bad that my projects will probably be disregarded by somebody, even though I poured my heart and soul into them!
I don't have a TLDR if that wasn't clear that this page was going nowhere.
