Uberdictionaries
An uberdictionary in steno is a collection of translations with context about their pronunciations, orthography, origin, and anything else you might need to know.
With an uberdictionary, you can write translations once, and any generated theory will get those entries for free without having to add them manually.
Theories should be able to choose what translations they support, and build rules around them without immense effort.
This was an important concept in Quartz and would be a good idea if Generated Dictionaries ever took off.
Compatibility
An uberdictionary would probably need to be versioned, as adding new entries could conflict with existing entries depending on the rules of the theories using it, even if those translations are not homophones.
Updating a theory to a new uberdictionary version may seem like a lot of work, but with good dictionary generation tooling it should be easier.
I definitely think people could be able to keep up with new dictionary versions and only run into the occasional conflict.
