Learn Pinchord

Learning resources for Pinchord. This page isn't great and will be archived eventually.

Note that Pinchord is in Pre-release, meaning that it not stable yet! It is ready for full time use for those interested, so you can still try it out if you'd like :)

If you need to set up pinchord, see Setting up Pinchord :p

This page is just where I'm throwing miscellaneous advice for now, it's not really a great guide. You might know better how to learn Pinchord than I do, at least right now when I haven't really gotten to observe anyone learning it, I only know my own experience, which is obviously quite different!

Uncomfortable Chords

Some chords (particularly some finals) are going to feel hard or uncomfortable, this is normal. The finger dexterity required for Pinchord is not something you're likely to have. You may have a head start from other hobbies, but you will have to work through some difficult chords. This discomfort should go away :)

Definitely listen to your body, of course! As with many things, Pinchord isn't very useful if you hurt yourself, so let your muscle and skill build up but keep yourself comfortable.

Making Briefs

The AOIU vowel chord is unused and can be used for making "briefs". Briefs are custom chords you make that can map to anything you'd like.

You don't need to worry about briefs to learn the layout, but it is something nice to have :)
