A Pinchord Ticket (Report):
Ticket · History
After Javelin support was removed, the build/update process of Pinchord got a lot easier, and derivations are now no longer fragmented across two platforms. There's a canonic format for chords, the python files.
It may now be possible to build Pinchord as a C++ dictionary and automate Javelin builds based on the Python files. This would add minimal overhead to the build process, and mean that derivations, and Pinchord itself, can continue to "just work" using their python files.
The other issue the Javelin implementation had was that it held back features in both Plover and Javelin, but a C++ dictionary should be able to do just about anything.
Rather than requiring users to build Pinchord through the web tools, they can just download and pre-built firmware files, or build their own if they need customization.
